Replacing Images Using Adobe Photoshop

Maybe you need to insert your company logo or image of the PSD file in Flash template package. Here you'll find quick guide of how to do that in Adobe Photoshop.
Open the PSD file in Adobe Photoshop. For details, you can refer to Opening PSD File.
To replace images in the PSD file you must first select the layer that holds the item. A shortcut "Control-click" can help you to locate the right layer. First, choose the Move Tool from the toolbar, and then hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard while clicking the image you wish to modify with your mouse. The Layers panel will immediately show the correct layer as highlighted in blue.

Locate the Right Layer
Tips: To make sure it is the correct layer. Click the eyeball icon again to show the layer once more.
With the right layer is selected, Ctrl-click on its name in the Layers panel. This will immediately give you a selection box looks like dotted border around the corresponding image on the screen.

Select the Image
Before you replace the image, you have to get the exact dimensions of the image first. You can easily find them in Info panel (Window > Info). Here you can find the Width and Height for the selected image as 74x86 pixels.

Now, open the new image and resize (Image > Image Size) it.

Back to the template .psd, you should make sure the image which needs to be replaced is still selected.
Click on your new image file and choose Select > All from the top menu. Your new image now has a selection border around it. Next, select Edit > Copy in the top menu to copy this image. Then, click on the template .psd and choose Edit > Paste Into from the top menu.
Tips: To make the new image get the same effect as the one of template .psd, before you do the steps above, you should copy the layer style. To do it, first, in the template .psd, right click the layer which contains the image and choose Copy Layer Style. Next, right click the layer of new image and choose Paste Layer Style. Here you can find the new image with the same effect: it has a border the same as the replaced one. After that, you can drag it from new image window and drop it on the right position of the template .psd.

Your new image is now in the layer above the old image and click File > Save to save your modification.
