Publishing Flash Movie in SWF Quicker

Finally, after you made all appropriate changes to your web design template, you should publish and update it.

Maybe you want to modify publish settings to reduce download time or increase image quality. To do that, please choose File > Publish Settings... from top menu. You can set export settings for all images and sounds of your SWF file in the Publish Settings dialog box. These settings are applied to all images and sounds if you do not set export settings for the images or sounds in the Properties dialog box. In Publish Setting window there are main options that have significant influence on published SWF movie file size such as Image and Sound. I present you some reference about Publish Settings to help you match your needs.

Publish Settings

Version

Select a Player version from the Version drop-down list box. The generated SWF will match the Flash Player.

Compress movie

Compress the SWF file to reduce file size and download time. This option is selected by default and is most recommended when a file is text-intensive or includes a lot of ActionScript. A compressed file plays only in Flash Player 6 or later.

Image

Default JPEG quality
You can control the quality (0-100). The bigger the number is, the higher the quality and larger the size. Try to experiment with quality to get optimal size/quality balance.

Sound

Sample rate/Bit rate
The sample rate and bit rate make a significant difference in the quality and size of sounds in exported SWF files. The more you compress a sound and the lower the sample rate, the smaller the size and the lower the quality. You should experiment to find the optimal balance between sound qualities and file size.

After you finish the above settings, you can export the published SWF file to the folder where the original SWF file is located. Now it's time to check modifications you've made.
